Pre-Eclipse Education & Safety Precautions during Advisory:

  1. Information will be shared during Advisory in the days leading up to the eclipse to educate students and staff about the phenomenon, including its scientific significance, safety precautions, viewing techniques and educational online resources.
  2.  The importance of eye safety will be emphasized in the Advisory lesson. Certified solar viewing glasses for all participants will be provided. Please ensure you understand the necessity of wearing them properly throughout the event and know the dangers of looking directly at the sun without proper protection. Please reinforce with students the importance of following safety guidelines at all times. Detailed safety information will be provided during Advisory.    

Location: During lunch, students and staff will report to the open areas on the school grounds with a clear view of the sky and minimal obstruction from buildings or trees.    
Schedule for April 8: Based on the timing of the eclipse, the event will occur during lunch. Lunch will be extended accordingly to ensure participants have ample time to set up and observe the phenomenon.

  • 2nd period 11:10 - 12:40 (90 min)
  • LUNCH 12:40 - 1:45   (
  • 3rd Period 1:50 - 3:10 (80 min)
  • 4th Period 3:15 - 4:35 (80 min)
